Veranti Spyder (MR2 based)

""" This is a very, very reluctant sale, I love this car, but I need to raise money for IVF treatment which isnt cheap, so sadly it has to go...the toys always go first """

Designed by the genius John Barlow, the car looks stunning based on reliable Toyota build quality.
(MR2 MK2 Rev 1)
Only around 50-60 Veranti kits were ever sold, and some of these went abroad, the chances of seeing another are very rare.

See www.veranti.co.uk for more information, they have all panels etc and spares in stock, I spoke to the MD on the phone the other day, great guy. If you are the type of person that doesnt like strangers coming up to you and asking questions etc, then this car isnt for you, people are always asking where did I get the car etc, looks great and so on...it does generate a lot of interest even from just driving down the road as no-one knows what it is!
It looks a far more expensive car than it is, I often just say " Its an Italian one-off " !

The heater is super efficient in this car, so you can drive with the roof down in the Winter, and not get cold!

The SVA rules have changed meaning so there wont be anymore Veranti Spyder's built, although you can buy your own kit to convert an MR2 to a Veranti Coupe, this kit is for sale on Ebay for £2k alone.

Built 2006 by a retired engineer to the cost of £10k, completely resprayed in Mercedes Indium Grey, only around 2k miles since total rebuild which included:
New clutch, cambelt, stereo engine serviced etc, interior retrimmed, Magnex silencer.

New Boss alloy wheels, and tyres.

I have very recently replaced front discs (vented) and fitted new Greenstuff pads, and rebuilt both calipers, plus new gearbox seal and repaired exhaust, and new battery.

Flew through MOT with no advisories in May, tax for another 2 months.

All tyres have loads of tread, I have a load of workshop/build manuals plus some spares to go with it

Also a folder full of receipts, and a complete breakdown of the 10k spent.

I also have the guys contact details who built the car, who would be only too pleased to talk about it!

If you fancy a 2 seater convertible which looks great and is reliable this is the car to go for, cheap insurance costs me around £20 a month.

The only fault it has is a slight worn synchro on second gear, its a common problem on MR2 gearboxes, apparently it can be fixed by changing to a thicker gearbox oil, but it doesnt bother me so I havent done anything about it.

Please ring 07980827146 for any questions etc, its currently on my private plate so will knock some off sale price to sort retention.

Will accept sensible offers!

Cheers

Kit-Car magazine "It’s gorgeous. There is the car’s sheer good looks as well as the top quality of the conversion. Give it a real once-over and it’s hard to see where the MR2 ends and the Veranti starts. Visually, it’s totally contemporary with strong shades of MGF and Porsche Boxster but it still emerges as a thoroughly original and individual form. Which Kit magazine "The ultimate MR2 conversion? We certainly think so. A useable roadster with terrific styling which should be easy to build. What more do you want?" Empirex "The Veranti is totally original, cunningly executed and a sure-fire winner. It comes from the mind of a man with a true pedigree within the industry and John Barlow reckons it’s on a par with his personal favourite Sabre, which means it’s good, very good. This kit can be built by a novice kit-builder and provides exotic styling and quality for a pocket money price." Complete Kit Car magazine "Few kit cars have the effortless style of the Veranti and the change from convertible to coupe format has further ramped up its easy elegance."
